The process of designing buildings requires clear, effective communication with multiple and diverse groups of people in a variety of settings. We view our role, first and foremost, as being careful, unbiased listeners. We work to create an environment that fosters open dialog among user groups and stakeholders so we can develop a clear understanding of the functional and design issues that will influence the form of the building.
When we begin a new project, a Project Architect is named who, together with Winton Scott, follows the project from start to finish. Other staff architects are assigned to the team based on the specific needs of each project. This “horizontal” organization allows for a high level of continuity as a project moves through various phases, and it avoids the stratification that can occur when a project is passed from a design department to a drafting department to a construction department. Our clients are assured that all work is being done by experienced architects and that the same Project Architect will be directly involved in all phases.
Because of our desire to provide continuous involvement of the Principal-In-Charge and the Project Architect through all phases of the project, our workload must be purposely controlled to give our clients the peace of mind of knowing that their project will always be a priority until it is successfully completed. Our goal is to carefully seek out projects that are a good fit for our available staff and we stand behind our commitments. |
